James
Benton
The logo for ICEL 2000 was designed in 1998 by James Benton, who
also designed and produced the initial flyer distributed
at the 6th Conference in Tampere, Finland. James
is an artist, poet, and member of the International
Permaculture Association. He manages the small
farm which his family trust is developing as an
educational resource centre for people interested
in small-scale sustainable organic horticulture,
revegetation with New Zealand native flora, and
Maori medicinal plants.
Richard
Cooper
The ICEL 2000 full-colour Conference
flyer incorporating final registration information
was designed by Richard Shortland Cooper, one
of New Zealand's most promising and prolific artists.
Richard's art is amazingly varied, ranging from
delicate flowers executed in steel and flax, though
paintings in a variety of media, to Greater Auckland's
largest public sculpture, "Cultural Destiny",
which will feature prominently in Manukau City.
Richard is deeply concerned with social values
in society.
